Community Oversight Board for DHS Progress Report to Mayor of Philadelphia Released March 30, 2010
The Philadelphia Community Oversight Board for the Department of Human Services (COB) recently completed the February 2010 Report on Progress from the City of Philadelphia Community Oversight Board for the Department of Human Services. The WRMA team serves as the support and research staff for the Community Oversight Board in its mission to oversee the Department of Human Services' implementation of a series of recommendations issued by the Philadelphia Child Welfare Review Panel (CWRP). The CWRP was appointed by the Mayor of Philadelphia in the wake of a child death that placed into question certain practices of DHS and the private agencies with which it contracts.
The February 2010 progress report is the third report prepared by the COB and supported by WRMA. In addition to reporting on the status of the Department’s implementation efforts, the report chronicles the efforts of the COB and informs the Mayor of the COB’s planned activities for the next six-month period.
The February 2010 progress report was formally released by Mayor Michael Nutter in a press conference held on March 30, 2010.
