Prevention and Early Intervention Plan - Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health

The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LADMH) is undertaking an intensive multi-faceted approach to developing the county's Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) plan, one of five plans authorized by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) enacted by the California voters in 2004. LADMH contracted with WRMA to provide facilitation and support services to assist in the development of its PEI plan.

WRMA is supporting the overall planning process, which includes assisting in designing and guiding the planning process itself. This involves evaluating the existing planning process and capacity of the department's community partners to engage in the planning effort. It also involves collaborating with DMH service area managers and community partners in implementing the planning process.

Specific tasks include conducting 50 key informant interviews, 60 focus groups, and 24 community forums throughout Los Angeles County. WRMA is responsible for designing the interviews, focus groups and forums, organizing and managing all aspects of the site specific details, conducting and facilitating the events, providing language support in all 13 Los Angeles County threshold languages, recording/transcribing all events and summarizing and analyzing the results.
